getting rid of some gear.

have my mark 1 intercooler that i don't need along with a t2554 garrett turbo that bolts straight to it. intercooler suits pipework that goes over the top of the motor. turbo bolts straigh to the inlet tank. i have baffeled the inlet tank for a more even air distribution.

the turbo is a plain bearing turbo that has already been machine and modded to suit external wastegate. it is rated to 260hp. i have never had this turbo running but have had the covers off and the wheels are in perfect condition and the shaft has the standard small amount of play that bush bearing turbos have.

i replaced this intercooler with a new identical one that had a slightly different intake flange cause i went to a gt2560r turbo that had the differnt outlet bolt pattern. didn't want to cut this one up thourgh it would be earsier to build a new one.

turbo and intercooler $450
can assist with other parts needed like headers and plenum etc.

this turbo on a gix1100 should get you over 200hp and would spool nice and quick.

How does cooler bolt to frame?

Suit '92 Gixxer?

Need scavenge pump or high enough to not need one?

Headers price?

Just had a look and my turbo is virtually identical, slightly different turbine housing.

What were you going to do about the oil cooler, remote??

yes need a scavange pump. remote oil cooler. it does not attach to the frame at all. held by the turbo and up pipes. will suit oil cooled gsxr

That'd be handy bloke, lots of cheap crap on the bay,but i dont wanna fuck my engine. And if i could borrow "the book" for a few weeks,i promise to return it without sticky pages, just need to get my head around a few things, because booster talks too fast, but he's been a massive help so far;).

i didn't actually think the book helped that much to be honest. happy to lend it to you tho.

i guess my advice is don't cut corners. i would use a piggy back ecu not a fpr, get a wide band air fuel meter. plenty of people have used a fpr and no wide band but i guess i have been spoilt with the autronic and the wide band af meter. depends what end result you are after. i am looking for an 'oem style' tune so much easier to get this with top of the line products.

yeah thats the advice Greg n Shayne gave me too,my budget is tight atm so looks like it'll just gather dust while i'm savin up.Only lookin at 7-10psi with minimal internal mods, and for 180-200hp i shoulda probly gone for a thou conversion instead. But too late now...the woosh-bang is on its way.Keen for a read of the book still mate coz i'm only new to turbo's...and sorry for pissin in your thread. You blokes should do a detailed "How To" on this topic...i have read your build thread but there is lots of gaps to fill in for people who have no idea like me.
cheers mate

a how to would be about 100pages long and every installation is different. just ask questions mate. thats what i did and still doing.

dont doubt there are gaps mate cause i am lazy when it comes to the finer detail
